Title: PCB BOARD NON WORKING WANTED
Post by: MameMaster! on October 24, 2003, 10:34:54 am
 ;D
Greets all.

I'm looking for a NON working PCB board to mount in a frame as a display for my arcade room.

Does anyone have one they're willing to trade/sell for a few bucks?

I would prefer a flat board (no "levels") and one that's marked with the Sega, Nintendo, Atari etc. company name.

Thanks!
The MameMaster!   ;)

Heck, you could probably get a working one for dirt cheap as well.

I like your idea. A framed PCB... Sweet. I have a few pinball playfields I am going to clean and artify for my gameroom, but your idea is pretty cool, too. Mind if I steal it? :D

I did something like this, but I didn't frame them.  The boards I have on the wall work, so I may occasionally use them.

There is an overhang in my basement ceiling for ductwork right over the games where I placed some marquees and I screwed in some eye hooks to hang some boards from, as well as a small shelf that I place various controls for "decoration".  Somehow I doubt my tastes will ever grace the pages of the House & Garden style guide, but it suits me.  ;)

ps - sorry mamemaster, I don't have any non-working boards for you.  But APFelon is right, you can pick up working boards real cheap, too.  I've purchased a number of working jamma boards for $10 or less.

That's cool...I would like to make a "joystick" display of classic console controls someday.

Regarding the board....most people that I show my cab to don't have the slighted clue as to how big each of these boards really are (especially for the 80's games).

I thought it would be neat to frame it like art......

Thanks for the pic though!

The MameMaster!  ;D

PS- I picked up a working Zaxxon (great classic in my book) on ebay over the weekend for $30. (including shipping).....I'll post a pic when I'm done framing this baby.....this is artwork to me!

I did this with the first IBM As/400 I ever worked on.  I threw the case out after I gutted it.

My wife had the motherboard framed for me.  Unfortunately, it was busted during our move.

It was a thick board, so the frame was big bucks.  Definitely get a thin one.

I considered mounting it like you did....but came to the conclusion it's too expensive.

I'm planning on gluing it to a piece of foam core (most likely white or black and mounting that in a standard picture frame with no glass so you could actually touch the board.

I figure that would be the easiest/cheapest way to do it.

Good idea.  Might as well let 'em feel the sweetness of the board  :D

I'm going to yank my glass right now and get this sucker back on the wall.

Nice decorations Oscar.

So far on my gameroom wall I have a complete NOS "Hunchback Olympics" conversion kit (on foamcore), NOS X-Men (COTA) and Black Tiger sideart, a Road Fighter poster, PGA Tour Golf and Kramer Krane marquees.

I also have a bunch of stuff I haven't put up yet. Marquees (Omega Race, Meltec's Big Mouth, Ajax, and a marquee that is either a Bootleg MVS marquee or a prototype MVS marquee), an NOS Willis Asteroids overlay, and some other odds and ends (Kangaroo glass, Dig Dug glass, complete Kangaroo panel, and aTac/Scan panel).

I have framed Pump it Up and Star Wars flyers on top of my fridge, a framed Puppy Pong promotional picture in the living room as well as a framed Millipede flyer and another whose name escapes me in the gameroom.
