Even if you do the pc gun people have to recalibrate every time they play a game, so quite complaining and be grateful. :)

anyway, i wouldnt be b|tch at all except for this --> o Calibration required only once, unless light gun is re-connected
which is here --> http://www.act-labs.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?pid=132
that is very misleading. i would leave it on, but that more electric bill, more heat, and more noise from the fans. not to mention i just dont like leaving it on for the sake of leaving it on.

Not me. If I calibrate for game X, reboot, and then play game X again, no need to reboot.
However, if I then play a different game Y, I often need to recalibrate reboot or no.
I'm talking both the PC gun and the TV gun.
A question I have no idea if it matters or not:
Is power still going to your motherboard? ATX motherboards always have power, even when turned off, and maybe the gun box needs a trickle through the USB port to save the savings?

oh common saint, howard has a slight reputation around here, i was just having fun ;D
i did think of that, but i dont know what i could do about it. although im sure it does have power. both of my comps have that motherboard, and when i turn the them off the lan led's and the keyboard power lights stay on.
guess i should mail act labs on this one....

For the VGA version. it seems to keep calibrated when I force the resolution (my monitor only handles 640x480) and then I use hwstretching. This might help you out some.
But I really don't play with it all that much since I got my dreamcast with hotd2 on it...
