If anyone wants it for $50, they can have it. You pretty much get a cabinet with nothing but wood (painted wood with t-molding, but wood nonetheless -- no coin door, monitor, CP, nothing.. keeping that stuff for my 2nd attempt).
If not, to be honest, I'll probably just destroy it or give it away in another week. Will try to post some pics this time, when I get home later this morning..
-
Where in Houston?
What's wrong with it?
Pictures?
-
Let's see some pictures of the thing.
-
I forgot to post them, had a bad morning and forgot, then was watching anime most of the day :P
There is nothing major wrong with the cab really, I just don't like the design anymore. After working on several real cabs, I'd just rather make another one that feels more 'arcadey.' I also think I can avoid a lot of the little mistakes I made with the first one -- having now accumulated a nicer set of tools and improved my woodworking skills -- and come out with something much cleaner and more professional/authentic-looking.
You might want to rip out the current monitor shelf and re-do it as it is a little crooked.. paint the inside.. but the rest is fine. I leave it up to whoever buys it, at $50 it would be a good deal for firewood if it wasn't painted :P

Nooooo... OK, maybe later *this* morning :b
Not my fault, I blame Shadow Skill TV and Grappler Baki s2 ;D

Where are you located? I live near Compaq, if you live near there it would be easier if I came over to look at it, whereas if you live in Pasadena or Clear Lake, it would be better for you to post pictures.
-
I live in Atascocita South, a subdivision in Humble (north of downtown Houston). I work at Convergys in the Greenspoint area, which is about 20-30m from me for reference.. I *think* the Compaq building is pretty close..
I forgot pics.. anime once again.. Space Adventure Cobra and Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi devoured my free time.. oh, well, though, I'm off Sunday and Monday so I'll have to try to remember then.. want to take some nicer pics anyways as I have a new cam now, so no big loss.
If you still want to come look at it on one of those days, just shoot me a PM and maybe we can set something up.

Super crappy pics.. most of the parts would be coming out at $50, keep in mind (no monitor, no coin door), I'm only looking to get rid of the cab itself.
The keyboard drawer and back door were taken off for the pics.

#2...
-
Can you spot the special mystery guest? :-X
PS, if these are not good enough I will take more pics sometime after I take out what is coming out and stick the doors back on with my better camera.

A few questions:
Is this made out of MDF or plywood?
What is the thickness of construction material?
Is that T-Molding or black paint on the edges?
Is this a Lusid/Midway style cabinet?
What are the dimensions of the cabinet?
What size monitor would fit in it?
Are the keyboard drawer and marquee light fixture included?
What are the dimensions of the hole where the control panel goes?
Am I correct that the keyboard drawer is right below the control panel?
Is the panel designed for a monitor that is straight up, or tilting back?
Are the inside surfaces of the cab painted black or purple?
Thanks,
Buddabing

Is this made out of MDF or plywood?
-Plywood, oak. <sighs at thought of how much was wasted on this alone>
What is the thickness of construction material?
-3/4" all the way.
Is that T-Molding or black paint on the edges?
-Molding.
Is this a Lusid/Midway style cabinet?
-Nope, loosely based on Escher's mcp01 cabinet.
What are the dimensions of the cabinet?
-Whew.. 6 ft. tall, about 3 ft. deep, I think 24-25 wide.
What size monitor would fit in it?
-Probably any up to 25/27", but made for 19". I would recommend redoing the monitor shelf, the angle makes it so the de-cased 19" I have barely fits due to the depth.
Are the keyboard drawer and marquee light fixture included?
-Keyboard drawer: yes; light fixture: no. I can reuse the fixture and you can get the same or a similar one from Home Depot. The speakers are included, though.
What are the dimensions of the hole where the control panel goes?
-Pretty big. Approximately 12" deep by 8-9" high if memory serves.
Am I correct that the keyboard drawer is right below the control panel?
-Yes.
Is the panel designed for a monitor that is straight up, or tilting back?
-No panel included, so that is up to you. The current monitor shelf is tilted, but see above.
Are the inside surfaces of the cab painted black or purple?
-The visible inside surfaces are purple, the rest of the inside is Kilz-coated, no paint.
Damn.. after answering all those questions, I'm thinking more and more that I should just nab *all* the parts and take a chainsaw to this thing just to minimize losses >.<
Gah.. budda, give me a thumbs up or down ASAP, I'm probably just going to get rid of it next week if you have no interest.. I'm wasting too much time trying to find a home for this thing now.

nice "project" cab to toss out.. :) too bad I'm not local

Dude, don't pitch it!
I'm going to an auction next weekend (Nov 8-9). If I don't get a cab there I'll buy yours.
My plan would be to build a shelf where the CP goes, put a Hanaho CP on it (matching purple), then adjust the monitor shelving and put a monitor in it. Do you have any of that purple paint left?
I really want a 25" monitor for the authentic arcade look, the WG K7400 is 23" by 20 5/8", I hope it'll fit your cab, if not, I'll go 19".

That's fine. I'll spare it a bit longer and remove what is coming out in the meantime. If you change your mind when you come to see it, that's fine.
I also have a HotRod (#989 :P) I'd sell if you don't already have one. Not used much at all.

we should have a houston area gathering to show off our cabs :p.
im in pasadena though :(

YGPM. What does #989 mean? Serial #?
