I've got an unusual problem with 3D Arcade.
It began when I installed the "Classics" skin that was posted recently. I start the FE in 3d mode, with the cylarcade option. When the arcade loads up, and I press up on my joystick (or the up arrow key), instead of zooming in to the cabinets, I get a windows box that says "Realplayer must be loaded" or some such. I can click "no" on this and everything runs fine from here on out.
I'm sure it's just a small option somewhere. Can anyone help me out?

Does this also happen when you start the fe in list or fps mode?
-It looks like the fe thinks it found an .rm file and wants to display it but there is no realmedia player on your system. Be sure there are no realmedia files in your glvideodir paths. Maybe also remove the one in dummys\jukebox.rm.
-Try removing the rm from the list with vide extensions in section 5 of the general cfg menu.

It only happens in cylarcade mode. I get this error: "To play correctly, this Shockwave movie requires Realplayer. Would you like to download now?" in a windows box. I'd rather not install Realplayer. I removed the jukebox.rm dummy. I also removed .rm from the video extensions list. I can't see anything about a glvideodir path. Can you be more specific?
Thanks in advance!

glvideodir is the path the fe searches for video's for each emulator.
you can find these entry's in every emulator cfg file.
interesting that it only happens in cylarcade and with the a specific skin. Maybe somehow in special cases the encapsulation of realmedia to not show up when the player is not installed does not work. I'll look through the code. But it is difficult to diagnose as both my machines have real player on it.

That fixed it, it's working like a charm now. Thanks for the quick fix!

Ok, the problem is back. I downloaded the videos to run on the 3d models, set the path to the unzipped videos, and now when I select a game, I get the same exact error message. I click no, and the videos play just fine. I am using the fixed .exe you posted above. The videos are those I got from your registered members location. If they are .avi files, why is it asking for realplayer?
Sorry to pester you again! :/

Why? The reason is that rm was first the only supported format. I have done my best to encapsulate references to it but in certain cirumstances, setups, it could indeed be that they are still made. Most people have real on ther machines so it is difficult to trace. So I am glad to hear your feddback so we can get rid of this for ever :-)
So when occurs it this time exactly? I must have some kind of starting point to search... Last time it easy becasue you told me it happeed iin clyarcade when hitting the zoom in and out keys...

Sorry DjinniMan, I'm jumping in here as I seem to be in the same situation.

The fixed exe seems to have taken care of the call when the arcade is first loaded. Now a call seems to be issued the first time a game that has a vid gets the focus (cylarcade, fpsarcade, or listbox). It doesn't matter that the vid is not rm. There aren't even any rm clips on my pc.
Hope this helps Peter. Let me know if you need some more specific tests. ;)

ok brute force this time...added an anti-rm block to the video object itself..hope this does it

Viciouslymamed was right, it seemed to happen whenever a 3dmodel with a video associated with it was scrolled to in cylarcade, etc.
I use the past tense because this latest .exe has fixed the problem for me. Glad I could help with the bug squashing!
Thanks!
