Wico or Happ?
Is Wico bad or something cause theyre stuff is pretty cheao.
People are always talking bout Happ and never mention Wico.
Anyways if you dont know wico their site is http://www.wico.com
-
the only option on the poll is "wico or happ"
-
Easy answer then.
-
hell i dirint know that thing was up why dont u guys tell me
-
happ is whack.they charged me $42 shipping on marquee retainer and a monitor bezel.
what the hell.... :-[
-
thanx snake but i was reffering more to the joysticks and buttons
-
I think that it is probably a matter of personal preference and that you'd be fine ordering from either one. I went with Happ and I don't really have a good reason why. I think that Happ's website is superior to Wico's. However, when I called Wico up they were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their inventory.

Yeah, but dude, those are both huge items to box up and ship. I don't think that Wico (or anyone for that matter) would've charged you less.
I personally prefer Wico leafswitch joysticks, but like TalkingOctopus said, it's a matter of personal preference.

there's another thread about this - Happ charges cost for shipping. It's UPS that charges $42 shipping for that size box.

[sigh]
Here's quotes directly from UPS (daliy pickup, ups account, non-resident, San Fransisco to Chicago, ground):

UPS's explanation of why it costs so much: ups oversize definition (http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/prepare/oversize.html)
Other thread talking about this. (http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=12420;start=msg97167)
Snake, how many times will it take for you to realize that it's not happ's fault that it cost so much?
(OTOH, happs didn't warn you, which does suck big time.)
edit: fixed link

Anyway, If I had to choose I'd choose, hmmm, depends on what I'd want to get since Happ doesn't carry leafs.
-
I think the results of a poll with one choice to vote for are a little obvious :P
But I checked anyway just to be sure ;D

Chill everyone,i just like to rant sometimes... :P
However, happs should atleast "TRY" to ship using another company.
Like USPS or somethin.
didnt wico go out of business ?
anyone know anything about their p360s ?
???

You can spec with shipping company you want, but happs still ( >:( ) won't tell you the cost. So you might be paying even more than with the default UPS, without even knowing it.
Usually, UPS is cheeper than the others, especially with big (but not huge sizes like cabs) packages shipped ground. USPS is ~$25, parcel post ("ground"), 26x24x6, 1 lb (http://postcalc.usps.gov/details.asp?DC=-1&MC=4&MT=3&Cost=25.39&time=6_Day%28s%29&OCity=SAN_FRANCISCO&OState=CA&DCity=NILES&DState=IL&DZ=60714&OZ=94105&P=1&O=0&M=1&service=-1&ssCost=&DCAvail=1&DCCost=0.55&SCCost=1.8&DV=&DS=&ssRegCOD=&Z=8&x=29&y=7), other stuff same as my prior example. [shrug] $5 more.

Wico was bought by suzo (which manufactures arcade parts).
AFAIK, the p360 was made someone else than suzo, and was discontinued.
I have no idea if the events are related, but might be.

I voted "happs or wico" myself...
but I think they should have had another option..
"ebay nos or ebay super old stock with missing parts"
I would have voted that one.
And BobRoberts is the way to go generically
Happs trackballs have a better feel... but are 2-3times more expensive. So it's a real choice.
I personally would go Wico trackball before a used one. They are EXPENSIVe to fix up... I spent 1/2 as much as a new trackball to have a crappy old trackball with new wheels. I was hoping that was all it needed.... but was wrong.
