Title: How can I get scan lines to appear correct in mame
Post by: creatine28 on April 25, 2002, 04:37:49 pm
I'm running Arcade os with mame 59 on a computer monitor with scan lines.  When I run horizontal games everythings cool, but if I run a vertical game with the screen flipped, my scan lines don't seem to flip, they stay the way they looked in horizontal mode.  It's not a real big issue, but I just thought there might be a way to correct this?  I already looked for the settings in Arcadeos, but I didn't see anything.  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks! ???

This behaviour is correct, AFAIK, as real scanlines (on arcade monitors, etc.) only ever run longways across the display. That is: they go from left to right across a horizontally mounted display, and go from top to bottom on a vertically mounted display... or have I completely misunderstood you?  ;D

Oh, I 've never really paid any attention to the scan lines on a verticle monitor, so I guess things are suppose to look that way?  I thought that the scanline when viewed verticle, should look up left to right as a horizontal screen looks.  Oh well, thanks for you message!
