That is a REALLY nice looking reproduction of the SW Yoke, I think. I'm probably not smart enough to figure out exactly how he did it though.
Has anyone else done this who could give some good instructions? or seen anywhere that did? the Aluminum and real handles give it a great look, vs the twistygrip...
Thanks

It probably helps to work/have access to a machine shop....
*Shrug* in the end it's probably cheaper/less hassle to get a used SW yoke.
The twisty grip is probably cheaper, but looks less cool (even if you use grey pvc)
That person in that link did do a pretty damn good job though =P

You can always do a Twistygrip with Happ handles or hacked cheap flightstick handles...

Or interface the real thing since this IS build your own ARCADE controls. Before I bought my Star Wars yoke I considered building my own. The whole point of this hobby is to have authentic arcade controls. Why would I cheap out now? Anything less than the real deal is silly IMO.

That's a really nice looking panel considering how many controls he managed to get on there. It still has a clean, uncluttered look to it. I hope he doesn't like Golden Tee, though. :)

You might look through http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=2699;start=0
I never did anything with it though.

I wrote to the guy who built it and he wrote back saying it doesn't work right because he didn't use pots and hasn't touched it in a few years...kinda funny if you ask me. :)

I've e-mailed the guy who built it numerous times. You should see some of his other projects - DOT spinner (before 1Up or OSCAR) scratch built from Delrin, if I recall. Rotating Q-bert sticks - BattleZone sticks - the list goes on.

Unfortunately, no, I don't think so. (And I lost the info I had on them when my HD crashed about a year ago).
