Title: TV - Video Games Switches
Post by: planetjay on October 15, 2003, 04:27:19 am
So I'm at Radio Shack yesterday. I'm looking at all the parts they are getting rid of to make room for more $25 Cell Phone Faceplates. And there, on the discount shelf, were TV - Video Game / Computer Signal Switches. You know. The replacement for the "Atari Switchbox" on the back of your TV. And the best part? $.47US!!! Yes, 47 cents. I bought all 3. It looks like RS part no. 15-1269c is being discontinued. I'll be hitting several more Radio Shacks tomorrow.

Get 'em while they're hot!

Pj your just too old school man.  Now days you can get a digital switcher that supports many console and automatically "flips" the switch on the switchbox to whatever video signal is active.

Now they aren't 47 cents, but I'd rather pay a little more and not have to reash around to the back of my tv.

But if you decide to sell off a console or 2 later, they'll be well worth the 47 cents...  ;)

Howard,

I don't think all consoles will work with automatic switches, especially old ones.

I know that Odyssey2 does not work with the auto switches that came with Sega and Nintendo.

Blah.  That is an oxymoron, my friend.

I'll look the next time I'm at Radio Shack.
