Title: Gauging Interest in new CP wiring harness
Post by: soslo on October 14, 2003, 04:58:17 pm
The unit would come with all of the wiring, electrical connections, ipac, etc. Basically, you would see a black box with two harnesses coming out. All wires would be labeled and have female quick disconnects on them.  There would be a much longer ground wire coming out of each harness that would connect to each button.

The extent of the install would be:
1. Plug in the cable from PC to EZPAC

I think it's the nature of the people here, but given a choice between more money (in this case more than twice the cost of the standard ipac) and more work, they'll choose the latter.

It's not always true or anything, but it's the same thing that was discussed in one of the slikstik cabinet threads. People with money and little time will not likely be building their own cabinet, and people with less money and more time will probably be more inclined to do the wiring themselves. Though the price is a lot lower than the slikstik cabinets, wiring up an ipac requires a whole lot less work, and nowhere near the same material/space requirements (tools, workspace, knowhow etc.).

::shrug:: just my $.02, it still seems like a good idea though, I'm just not sure whether there's a market for it or not. :)

I'd have to see the unit, but I think that people want to customize their wiring job to their specific CP.  Make it nice and neat.
