Title: Replacement for Mame.dk? (not for rom downloads)
Post by: Jakobud on October 12, 2003, 08:31:51 pm
Mame.dk is gone and I'm not sure where to turn to. I am not looking for rom downloads. I am only looking for another website that catalogs Mame and it's roms as thoroughly as mame.dk did.  Like all the info about the individual rom files, what is added/removed/changed each version, game details, etc... where do I look for this info now?

Mame.dk is gone...probably for good this time.  Probably bandwidth problems that have plaqued them for a while. :(

Regarding the list of new/changed/removed roms for each Mame version, where is this information found?  Like where did Mame.dk get this information exactly?  Is this information imbedded in the Mame.exe and is visible with some commandline switch or something?

No one knows the answer to this???  The whatsnew.txt file from mame.net has become cryptic to the point that it's a hassle to just figure out what are the new/changed/removed roms.... with each new release I just want to be able to figure out three things on my own without having to rely on a webpage...

1. what roms have been added
2. what roms have been removed
3. what roms have been changed

surely there is a way to tell this with just the mame.exe or something.  How else were the guys over at mame.dk always able to tell?
