I bought a keyWiz based on the information from the web site, but now I'd not to sure this was the right thing to do. The reason I bought the keywiz, the Shazaam button is what I'm not sure I can get working the way I intended to:
I wanted to have 2 different configurations of my CP. One for mame and one for the jukebox and video poker apps.
I was planning on building a custom config that had regular mame key assignments on the normal keyset, and use a switch to toggle to shazaam mode for the other apps which would remap the buttons for the other apps, for example the first row of buttons would be
P1 P2 Pause Tab Enter for MAME and be
1 2 3 4 5 for the other apps.
Unfortunately it looks like if the player accidentally hits the right or left button while in the shazam mode, they will switch to the ROM button mapping and screw everything up.
Is there anyway to prevent the keywiz from switching to its ROM codeset?
If not, it looks like I'm stuck with putting batch files to change the keyWiz config before launching them and call the batch file from mamewah.

It sounds like you are using an "unsupported configuration", but let's see if we can't get it working the way you want it to. The hardware is pretty flexible, so there's a good chance we can.
There is a way to disable the on-the-fly codeset switching, but I'm not sure if that's really what you want to do based on the result you are looking for.
If I understand it correctly, you are 4 diodes away from being able to get rid of your switch and having a couple of "soft button" switches (which you can hide, or not) to alternate between sets without worrying about accidentally switching. You could also just disable the switching and forge ahead as you are.
E-mail me and I'll walk you through it.
