Hi all,
I've just started putting my front end together (MALA v1.47.5 beta) for MAME 0.147. I have been trying to setup a few simple Mala gamelists using ROMlister026, including a Main List (which has all the adult, fruit mahjong etc removed), and a Shooters list (containing scrolling shooters)
With every Mala game list i export from ROMLister, many games in the new lists show incorrect player information, with "2p sim" games incorrectly showing "2p alt". In Mala, games such as Bakuretsu Breaker & Wyvern Wings show correctly as 2P sim on the original All Games gamelist created by mala. However, in any game list created by romlister, they show as 2P alt. If I open the mala gamelist created by romlister in notepad, affected games are listed incorrectly, so it appears the issue is with romlister, not mala.
Opening nplayer.ini in notepad confirms correct player info as 2P sim for affected games.
In romlister I am using nplayers 0.147, mames list.xml (from mame64.exe 01.47), catver.ini 0.147, and controls.xml to create romlisters merged xml.
I suspect it is something I am doing wrong, does anyone have any ideas or pointers. Any help greatly appreciated

I've been in touch with NOP via email re the issue, who has been exceptionally helpful.
Using the test bug fixed version provided, I generating several Mala gamelists. These newly generated lists now show correct sim / alt data for the games that were previously affected.
I'm sure NOP will detail the issue in the changelog / bug fixes for the new 027 release when he posts it.
I'd just like to say a big thanks for NOP's help and support while chasing this bug down. and for all the hard work involved in the porject. If only commercial software support was a good!

You also deserve a lot of credit for eliminating all the other possible causes.
