Title: retrOS
Post by: Sorex on October 22, 2012, 12:17:12 pm
Hello,

When looking for a quick emulator boot solution for my cab I bumped into this

RetrOS > google translate link http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?act=url&depth=1&hl=nl&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.be&sl=es&tl=en&u=http://retrospowered.blogspot.be/&usg=ALkJrhifbOnWxyxFEHawOSwDn_SqfF3dXw (http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?act=url&depth=1&hl=nl&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.be&sl=es&tl=en&u=http://retrospowered.blogspot.be/&usg=ALkJrhifbOnWxyxFEHawOSwDn_SqfF3dXw)

which is a retro gaming OS based on WinXP SP3

just like the site which is all in Spanish or Portugese the ISO is also in a none english language, besides that people who know the XP installs know what to do...

but for some reason that install can't format nor install onto my IDE disks (tried 2), altho when I use the original OEM cd of XP SP3 it formats just fine.

Anyone here who tried this thing?

Or should I just stick to my mini/micro XP (and replace the explorer with some frontend?) ?

Hello, test the x64 version available to download, in english. But your processor has to support 64 bits technology.

Excuse my bad english.

Can anyone provide feedback on the differences between:

(a) RetroOS
(b) nLited XP / TinyXP

Do you have preference for one over the other? and what are the pros and cons...

Thanks

D
