Wondering if there is anyone out there that is a ninja with animated video that would like to help me with a feature of my ongoing build Marvel vs. Capcom: Revolution (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,121570.0.html)
I'm planning on installing a 1366x480 LG video marquee in the cab and would really like to be able to show a looping animation up there when the display isn't being used for MAME marquees during play.
I'm pretty handy with graphics and design but I have no experience in animated 3D stuff. If there's anyone out there that would like to help me with this part of my build I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks
Joel

I just joined the other day and came across this post, I'd be willing to help out, I enjoy working in after effects and really just want to see what you do with that monitor. Let me know, I don't think I can PM yet...

If you want I can help. I'm experienced in After Effects as well as Autodesk 3ds Max. Maybe you have seen some of my work on YouTube?

Hi guys, thanks so much for replying!!!!
I decided not to use the M2900 in my current build as it would take away from the lines of the orginal design too much, so I am keeping the monitor for my next build where I can design with it in mind from the ground up.
I'm really envious of anyone who can work in 3D and After FX, I'm a 20 veteran of Photoshop and consider myself very capable with it, but the 'Wow' factor that comes from animation just goes light years beyond in my opinion.
Sjaak, your work is great, I'm definitely going to check out more of what you do on Youtube.
Another forum member has already generously offered to create a custom startup video for my Revolution project, but I'd love to stay in touch you guys for potential future projects we could work on together.

I offered to help Griffin when time permitted. If anyone else has more time, by all means, have at it. You'd probably be able to get to it faster than I would.

If you guys want me to send you some of my artwork assets and feel like messing around at making a crazy intro/attract video for the Revolution project just let me know and I can PM you with some links for art and fonts.
As I was explaining for Yotsuya, because of the aggressive theme and design of the Revolution cabinet and the high octane visuals of the Marvel vs Capcom games, I was hoping to create something visualy explosive and almost over the top without being cheesy. I'm sure to an animation pro, asking for action movie style, tumbling text, frgmentation and explosions are as cliche as asking a photoshop guy for an embossed chrome logo with plenty of drop shadow and a lens flare. But I think the theatrical extremes of comics and video games do allow for more saturated and crazy visuals than you could get away with in other genres.
Here's a fun example of an intro that I think had the right kind of energy for my project, I'm sure it's very cliche, but then again so are superheroes and kung fu masters :afro:
