Title: Will someone re-vectorize this flattened vector for me
Post by: Dervacumen on October 17, 2012, 07:39:56 am
I have the attached jpg of a crown that was once a vector.  I don't have a good way to get this in to vector format without manually re-tracing.  Isn't there an automatic live trace function or something that someone can run on this to give me a vector that I can tweak as I please?  I want to use this as the basis for a company logo.  I have what I thought was an .ai file but I can't open it with Inkscape my cheapo free option for drawing.  Wish I had the Adobe Creative Suite.  I can't attache .ai files here, but presumably could email it.
If it's not so simple a process, will someone let me know what it would cost to have done?
Thanks a ton,
Derv

That image is really small so it's hard to see the details to trace. Any larger version?

.zip the .ai file and attach it to a post.  Piece of cake.

I have an offer from another member here who might be able to convert this in to a format I can open with Inkscape.  If I can get it in to Inkscape I should be able to do what I need.  If it turns out I can't do it myself, at least at that point I can get a better graphic to post here.  Or I could zip it and attach it.  Didn't think of that.  Duh.
Thanks for the help so far.

I want to thank T3design for converting this in to a .pdf so I could import it in to Inkscape and vectorize it.
What a great place to hang out.  I'll post my redesign here for public comment.

I know the changes are not substantial, but here's the final design.  I'm open to ideas and changes, but I really want to keep it pretty simple.
Thanks again T3design for getting the original artwork in to a format I would work with.
Cheers
