Title: specific aliens needed
Post by: wol-nz on October 16, 2012, 04:22:11 pm: Hi all, I'm putting together a mini pinball - it will be a 'look a like' artwork piece of the pinball game Attack from Mars.
Inspired from gbeef's Attack of the PINZ.
Where i'm stuck is to find a quality alien scan to plug into my side art and the two aliens that don the backglass side.
OR if someone has Revenge of Mars aliens that would be good to.
This is what i have after a couple of hours... (for a picture that looks basic there are actually alot of components here - with many many more details to come ;D )

If you prefer, Flying Dutchman did an AFM UVP backglass (http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=2854).

The Future Pinball table (http://www.pinsimdb.org/pinball/table-2932-attack_from_mars) might have some sideart/graphics that you can extract. :dunno The .7z file does include a .SVG (inkscape) vector logo file with saucers.

The saucers are pretty cool - i'll use those.

It is as i guessed - i'll have to use the low res pics and try to redraw them.
Darn i would have really liked a higher res.
If someone has this pinball handy - i'd appreciate a photo of it at high res :cheers:

So i've found the highest possible quality on the net (pretty low - but it is what i've got)
I ran it through Adobe Illustrator to trace it. The highest detail settings looked just like it was "a fuzzy raster".
So i tweaked the settings and used a 9 pixel adjustment and find the picture takes on a new life.
a bit blocky - a bit retro -
I've made them into separate layers so i can move them around into different scenes for the side and backglass.
Any thoughts?

Is GUNS with LASERS.

well i guess aliens with LASER beam eyes would top that - but that's just a bit ridiculous.
