I recently obtained a gutted Taito Frontline cabinet. The control panel had been modified quite a bit over the year with lots of new button holes. I'm wanting to start over with a new layout for my MAME setup. I started to try and repair the existing panel, but removing the old vinyl was a huge pain and I was unsure of the stability of filling in that many holes.
So I'm wanting to buy or have a new blank panel built. Would this Midway part work for me? The dimensions seem so close but I'm afraid of it not working right. http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=CPBLANKUR (http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=CPBLANKUR)
Thanks!

Won't work. You will need a Taito panel. Chances are someone over at the klov messageboards would either have one, or the ability to bend one.

Why not take the drilled panel to a welding shop and have the holes filled?

Because I was having a lot of trouble getting the original vinyl off.

Did you use a heat gun? Thats really the only way to get the old vinyl off but its still a bit of a pain.

I have a Taito control panel in my garage. I purchased it as a spare when I bought my first cabinet. I have since sold that cabinet but still have the control panel. As I recall it was bare metal and pretty clean. I forget what Taito came it came out of. I would be willing to sell it, if you are interested send me a PM. I can send you some pictures of it.
