Title: Problems with DOS MAME and ArcadeOS...
Post by: gndprx on October 10, 2003, 10:26:10 pm
Okay, I'm going crazy.

I'm working on a computer that will be in a bartop.  I'm using DMAMEPP 074b (DOS Mame for i686) and the latest ArcadeOS.  About 75% of the time, I'm getting a black screen when I attempt to start the ROM.  The other 25% it works fine.

It passes the command line fine.  The command line goes away and I simply get a blank black screen.  The only way to exit this is to power the computer off.  Escape doesn't work and even Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work.

Hopefully someone will have some input.

Thanks!!

Maybe back up a version of dmame?  I went from .72 to .69 and it solved some bugs I was having--just a thought.

Does it do it with the same ROM 75% of the time, or is that figure for 75% of the time random ROMs give you the blank?

Random ROM's

I actually had to drop out of ArcadeOS today to test with Ms. Pacman.  Ran fine once I left the FE.  Yet gave me a blank screen when I tried to launch it from within the FE.

But just last night, it launched the same ROM just fine.

I can't seem to figure out what is going on.

I'll try an older MAME once I can  burn it off to CD to load it up.
