Title: Quick Bartop (Added LEDs)
Post by: CoryBee on October 03, 2012, 04:32:57 pm
I built several of these already and a friend asked me to make him one. I had one 1/4 complete, so i said yes. Here is that bartop.

I ended up ditching the side panels and making new ones because I didn't want to have it be Pinball enabled. Also wanted it all black with red buttons.

Shot of it in the reg. sized cade am working on before tearing it apart for the control panel.

And just some pictures of it completed. Had a whole day for activities so decided to knock it out all at once. Everything was done and painted cut etc in one day. Printed the marquee at staples the next day.

I have the first one with me again because my buddy I sold it to wanted me to add things to it that I have put on the newer ones. Lighted marquee (printed a new one for him too), lighted power switch, repainted bezel etc. First one I made next to the latest one.

Love these little things, and is becoming easier and easier to build them with a template. Well under $100 too.

Forgot to mention as well that I put together a laptop from spare parts I had around and only had a small hard drive to work with. it wasn't cutting it with space, so I soldered on an 8gb thumb stick directly to the USB drive so it would be permanently installed and the laptop would still fit in the bartop.

Decided to add some LEDs to the bottom of these bartops. Got about 15 meters of it and nothing to do with them. Did all red on the black bartop, and red and green on the rasta-ish one. Couldn't get yellow to look proper in the middle so yea.

Strips applied

RED!

And the other Bartop

Together now

The diffusion looks much better in person, the camera deafens it.

Anyways, I had fun soldering up all the LEDs and it looks really good (especially in the dark)

 :applaud: Well done.
Maybe it's just me but those visible screws on the sides and back are a bit distracting. Maybe you can add these...

For the price tag it doesn't bother me much. But where can I find those? A quick google search for trim screw covers didn't help. Thanks!

You can find them at Home Depot, Lowes. Most hardware stores carry them.
