Title: Looking for Multicade CPO Artwork for 9" Midway Cocktail
Post by: wxforecaster on September 30, 2012, 10:30:50 pm
Long story short, I restored a Ms Pac Cocktail and would like to keep it original. Thus, in order to put in a 60-1 for the kids and preserve the original CPs, I acquired two used 9" metal CP blanks, along with new trays, joysticks, firing buttons, etc.. After sanding down the paint/rust from the CPs and hitting them with some black spray paint, they are functional but I just don't like the look. They need some artwork love to match the multicade cocktail underlay I purchased.

I came across this auction here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320702556717 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/320702556717)
and thought, wow, that would go perfectly with mine. I searched across most of the artwork production/repro sites and cannot find this. I have not heard back from the seller where I could acquire the adhesive overlays or the artwork to get printed up.

Anyone know where I can get this (or someone who wishes to create something for me similar?)

Thanks in advance!
Evan

You can get the overlay from them here (http://www.arcadeheadquarters.com/product.sc?productId=28&categoryId=4) for ~$30 each.

OK, apparently my Googling skills suck. Thanks Scott!!
Hadn't seen this site before. Can't wait to see what other goodies they have.

I'll probably be back to this sub-forum soon. The 60-1 is only a "temp fix" until I get going on my own cab. I'm a meteorologist by trade, so I may be back soon for someone to design "StormCade (tm)" artwork for me.

Take care,
Evan

::)  Just what we need. . . another project that ends in "cade."

Why not "High Pressure Front" or "Cumulonimbus" or "Forecast Dartboard"?  :lol

Something like this from GoG works for the second one.  ;D

Well, I thought about The Dominator, but my colleague Reed Timmer already has that well locked up in copyrights ;)

And this is not pick on the meteorologist day ;)  :badmood: <-- well played Mauer.

That's a nice piece of artwork there! I also had an idea (akin to the Knievel neon rings) that would "branch" nicely into this, using a "lighting" disc I had. http://www.xump.com/science/MiniLuminDisk.cfm?SID=12&gclid=CJK83OjJ37ICFc2d4AodzRsApQ (http://www.xump.com/science/MiniLuminDisk.cfm?SID=12&gclid=CJK83OjJ37ICFc2d4AodzRsApQ) (of course would have to redo the wiring, but something I'm considering).

Definitely had a lightning and/or tornado theme in mind to go with my Whirlwind/Twister pins (and no I don't see a Wizard of Oz in the near future either).

Not picking on you for being a meterologist, just commenting on the glut of "cade" projects and planting the thought of considering a different title.

OK, the third title was an old good-natured joke, but no malice intended.   ;D

If you decide on a 4 player setup, "EF-4" would be a pretty cool name IMHO.

Alright, my artwork came from arcadeheadquarters, but now what to do? I figured it would come with the Joystick and button holes cutout, but it's a whole flat piece. What is the best way to cut the holes without destroying the artwork (which appears to be some sturdy vinyl). It would seem reasonably to apply it to the metal blank and then somehow cut the holes in it.

Sorry for the "duh" question.

Sounds like you need Rikitiki's "Side Art Install 101 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,120041.0.html)".

Scott,

Already viewed those amazing tutorials last year -- they rock.

Not so much concerned about the application, but rather how do I get the holes in the vinyl for the controls/buttons. I guess a sharp exacto knife is the preferred method.

Thanks agian!

You are correct, sir.  A fresh, sharp X-Acto blade is your friend.

The #11 looks like a good choice for cutting button/joystick holes.
