Title: Possible to run two Mala's simultaniously? Or close Mala on game start?
Post by: marioxb on September 29, 2012, 07:37:29 am
Basicially, what I want to do is have a list of categories like this:

Action games
sports games
etc.

I already have them configured to start another Mala installation via bat file with a gamelist of my desired games, like so:

Action games, starts Mala v2
sports games, starts Mala v3
etc,

All of the Mala installs are identical, but in different locations with different rom lists. The problem is that they won't start, with the error, "Mala is already running".

Is there any way to do what I want? I know there are other options I can do, but this is a very specific thing I want to do.

Create different lists, yo.

I know I can do that, but I want the name of each list displayed on the screen and be able to select and press 'enter' or whatever to select that list.

Why not just use Mala's tree functionality ?

I have game lists that I can scroll through by pushing P1 stick side to side. For different emus, I press P2 coin up and I get a little menu that I can scroll with P1 stick, and select with P1 start. Simple.

You can also set P2 stick to toggle through emus. I have mine set left/right for 'letter up/down', and up/down for background music volume.
