Title: Need Help! MAME not recognizing LED Wiz/GP inputs.
Post by: t3design on September 27, 2012, 01:12:16 pm
I am running MameUI 0.129u4 on an HP Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz in Microsoft Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

I have (3) LED Wiz/GP's:

    1 is Player 1 Joy and 7 player buttons (will have left flipper and nudge too)
    1 is Player 2 Joy and 7 player buttons (will have right flipper and nudge too)
    1 is a 4-way Joy, P1 and P2 start buttons and all 6 admin buttons.

I have a Tempest Spinner going through an Opti-Wiz

I have a Trackball going through a Pico-Wiz

Those 5 USB cables plug into a powered hub and the hub is plugged in to the back of the HP.

Under the computer "Control Panel" the "Game Controllers" recognizes all three LED Wiz/GP's:

The Joy stick movements show up on the screen and the buttons all indicate.

In Mame the Spinner and the Trackball work but none of the inputs from the LED Wiz/GP's work at all.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Did you enable joystick input in mame.ini?
joystick=1 or something like that.

That will get the inputs going, but you will need units with unique device numbers, for software to properly address the outputs.

Send me an email and we can get this straightened out.

Thanks!  That worked! (I'm a Mac guy, so this PC Windows stuff is all new to me.)
