Can someone post a list of vertical cocktail table games that have head to head play? (not just alternating turns). I know that there is a really fun version of space invaders that allows simultaneous play. I also play Hat Trick on my cocktail table head to head (I had to reverse player 2's controls to make it work). That's all I've got so far. You would think that there would be quite a few games that took advantage of the cocktail table setup. I could swear there was a football game also, but I can't remember the name of it. Thanks!

Yeah, there are surprisingly few. If you have a spinner there are Hot Smash and Off the Wall.

Here is a similar thread from a while back

In addition to Hat Trick, Tetris Cocktail, and Space Invaders II, try Hot Shots Tennis, Lazer Command, Astro Laser, M-4, Power Play
Leave the orientation 'sideways' and remap controls for Armor Battle, Windjammers, Alien Syndrome, Warrior, Blockade, Wizard of Wor, Demolition Derby, Demon, Gauntlet 1 and 2, Ripoff, Tank Force
Sprint, Warlords, Sprint/Championship Sprint, Offroad, Indy Heat, Tournament Table if you have dual spinners.
If you are running a relatively new version of mame, go to video settings within a game and select cocktail mode to get zounds of horizontal simultaneous 2-player games going.

track and field
star castle
atari football
there are setting in games for cocktail mode.. anything that was released in a cocktail.

Star Castle is simultaneous 2-player?
Atari Football needs two trackballs I think
Track N Field is horizontal orientation

Hat Trick is awesome. You just have to remap the controls relative to your perspective.
Hockey mania, y'all!

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I never thought of flipping the controls for Gauntlet!
Hat Trick is the most popular game on my table. It's like it was made for head to head. It's one of the games that I actually remember playing in the arcade when I was young.

On my cocktail cabinet I've got Gauntlet, Joust and Alien Syndrome set up to play with split-screen. Gauntlet proved particularly popular in this configuration.

Other great head to head split screen games foe the cocktail table:
- simpson's
- Double Dragon
- Teenage mutant ninja turtles
