Recently finished! has 2 rebuilt LS-30 joysticks, a bunch of happ buttons, I-Pac, and Ultimarc rotary joystick interface. I did the artwork myself, using elements from the CP and side art of an Ikari Warriors cabinet.

Nice art work! Is the LS-30 joysticks connected to the Ultimarc rotary interface with the stock harness or did you rebuild the harness from scratch if so any close up pics. Also i never used the LS-30 joysticks how easy do they turn compared to the HAPP rotary stick. I used the Happs once before and was dissapointed they were so hard to turn and the grip just didnt make sense.

Nice work!
Are the top plugs missing from your sticks? If so, the plungers of regular HAPP style buttons fit with a slight modification.

I had 1 stock harness and I had to make one. JC Arcade over at the KLOV forums provided me with instructions. you need two 13 pin molex connectors and wire them up like so:
Color refers to wire color
Brown 1 13
Red 2 12
Orange 3 11
Yellow 4 10
Green 5 9
Blue 6 8
Purple (Ground) 7 1
Gray 8 7
White 9 6
Black 10 5
White/Brown 11 4
White/Red 12 3
White/Orange 13 2
The wire color isn't so important. what you need to know is the 1st wire goes from slot 1 on the molex connected to the joystick to slot 13 on the molex connected to the rotary interface. 2nd wire is slot 2 and slot 12, etc.
I've never used a happ rotary so I can't compare. I knew I wanted the octagonal, bright yellow LS-30s. I also would have gone for the round heavy barrel style joysticks, but I got the LS-30s without much trouble.

I was lucky enough to get some actual caps, so this won't be necessary. It's a great idea though. Happ actually makes some buttons with convex tops (competition style?) that might look a little better on top of the joystick. food for thought. ;)

Yeah, I know, just thought I'd put this to your attention in case you didn't have some. I got a pair of SNK tops with my LS-30's too.

Since I just won 2 rotary joysticks on ebay last week, I wrote a software interface for mechanical rotary joysticks.

Too late now since you've already got a hardware interface, but I hope someone read this and finds it useful :)

What did you use for dust washers? None of mine came with any and i'd like get some. I was just going to buy some and modify the ID so they fit on the shaft, but if you found some that fit, that would be nice to know about.

Man I need something just like this for my NOS rotary joys.
Hey, is the top made of metal or wood? If wood, do the joys feel to short?
Any thoughts on building a second one for a small fee....

Slightly-necro bump with diagram by BadMojo12 based on the pinout provided by toxicwes in his earlier post.
