Hey guys. Thought I'd throw this out there. I'll make dedicated threads with updates when the time comes. I recently acquired a WWF Wrestlemania that has a trashed CPO. I looked all over the interwebs and NO ONE had a scan available or a reproduction.
So I took the CPO down to a local print show who specialize in photo restoration. They took high res pics of the CPO and used their decades of experience (one of the workers has been using Photoshop since it was first released) to fix my panel. Here it how it turned out...
Before....

Print from the shop...

After...

So, keep your fingers crossed, but I'm planning on gutting (just for ease of transportation and handling) my MK3 and NBA Jam, and taking the cabs down to get high res pics of the MINT sideart taken, cleaned up in PS and make them available to all you fellow gamers.
Now, I'm going to pay for this out of my own pocket, and based on what it cost me for just the CPO (granted it took a lot of work and the sideart shouldn't), I'd like to receive donations up to a point to cover the cost, but it's not 100% necessary.
I just want to share because I know there are people who say to themselves every time they see their faded/messed up artwork "Man, if only there were scans."
Well, soon there might be. Stay tuned
(Edit: Oh, I wanted to add that yes, gameongrafix has MK3 sideart, but the dimensions are wrong and the "3" in the corner is not correct and is not in the correct location compared to the dedicated machine.)

Can't go to that link :(

Fixed.

Well. Looks like it's a go! Just got off the phone with the shop and they said they've actually done this kind of thing before. I have an appointment to bring the machines (NBA Jam and MK3) in this Thursday to get shot. I'm not going to have them touch anything up in PS because the art on my cabs is so good, it's not worth paying them to do what some of the guys here can do.
I'll report back when they give me a time frame of when to expect the cabs and the images back. Stay tuned!

Eh, just put it out there. It is good for the hobby to preserve the art, especially separate from the printing folks. Just my 25 cents.

Well, the NBA Jam cab's all emptied and cleaned up. Ready to take it to the photo lab in the morning...

I haven't posted here in years. Came back on just to thank you in advance for this. I have a dedicated NBA Jam arcade cabinet in my game room (well, somewhat dedicated...I put a Tournament Edition PCB in the cab as well. I just need to swap a few wires and I can play TE).
My CP is all but flawless and I refurbished the joysticks, plexi overlay, coin locks, filled some holes and painted them. The only thing that needs work is the really faded side art.

Thanks again.
Unrelated side note: I get a kick out of your animated GIF. I assume the Hulk "whiffed" on the attempted elbow? Or was his opponent just (playing) woozy?

I think it was more the "woozy" acting. As for the artwork, here it is....

Here is the compressed, full 150dpi image...(I made the mistake of forgetting to ask for it to be at least 300dpi)

Now calling all PS artists!
I'll send this over to Rich at ThisOldGame and see what he can do with it if no one else feels up to the task. This needs to be cleaned up, flipped, and the MIDWAY/NBA need to be flipped for the mirror side as well.
I'm gonna wait to see how this turns out before taking the MK3 to get done.

Here are the final full res pics of the side art. Let me know what you think. Click the "DOWNLOAD" button at the bottom near the URL block. Don't click on the "Download Now." It will want you to install something called "ILivid." You don't have to install the "ILivid" thing.

I'll try and send them over to Rich and see what he says. Stay tuned for MK3...
