Title: Can someone please help me ID this stick?
Post by: Broken on September 19, 2012, 11:53:23 am
I apologise for not posting a photo. My camera was stolen 5 months ago, so i've drawn an image instead.

I've owned this stick for over four years and I'm only now curious to know what brand it is. I have the 38 size ball top, (it also comes in a 32).
There isnt a Brand logo, word, letter or number on the stick.

Fell free to ask questions, any help will be appreciated.

Suzo system 500 stick

AKA eurostick.

euro stick

it looks similar but its not a suzo 500.
unlike the Suzo it needs a mounting hole thats bigger than the ball top diameter. The plastic pivot part thats removable on the suzo 500 isnt on this particular stick, its part of the stick stick and as wide a the Ball top diameter, hence the reason the mounting hole has to be bigger than ball top diameter.... hope that makes sense.

Also the Octagon shaped plate that holds the microswitches in place on this stick is black plastic not metallic or red, like the 500.

metal or plastic mounting plate?

plastic sleeve over metal shaft or just metal?

ball top or crudely drawn bat top?

I'm thinking you don't have to actually cut a hole bigger than the top...the ball top probably screws off.

maybe a seimitsu with a different handle??

the balltop does not screw off and it looks more like a suzo than any japanese stick. the mount hole has to be bigger than the the diameter of the balltop, there are no 2 ways about it. the ball top is round. the sleeve/shaft is plastic.

the mount hole has to be bigger than the the diameter of the balltop,

You can't remove the shaft from the base, install the base into the CP, then reinstall the shaft into the base?

I've already mounted the stick and it works perfectly. My concern wasnt finding a way to mount it without increasing the mounting hole. I simply want to know what brand the stick is because I'd like to buy a few more.
It feels a lot more comfortable than using a suzo 500 and its a lot more responsive than any Japanese stick i've ever used due to the square restrictor which is designed in a such a way it feels circular.

the only think i could possibly think it might be is an "MCA Australia" joystick.

an MCA is still able to be disassembled though.

It sounds like a Coin Controls stick.

I have found these in many Data East cabs

They have a one piece plastic shaft and ball top and they use a larger hole in the control panel because they have a kinda built in dust washer.
They however can be taken apart like all other sticks by removing the e clip at the end of the shaft.

mgb thats not it. the base of the shaft isnt flat, its round like a suzo. i also forgot to ad that this stick doesnt use an e-clip or any other type of clip.
when i get my hands on a camera i'll post a pic.
