Title: Screen too small in Williams games
Post by: TJCOMBO on September 11, 2012, 12:26:28 pm
That fix changing the Y value worked for the Capcom games. Thanks!  The Williams games aren't displaying the correct resolution.  I know that they are meant for a 19" monitor and I am using a 25" but the resolution is way too small.  I am not sure if anyone is having similar issues, but I thought I would report this.

I'll add the logs on hopefully tomorrow.  I have to retrieve them, as my MAME isn't online.

If you only say "the Williams games" I need to google for some specific titles, then find out the resolutions they used, and deduce what your setup was from some previous posts ;) If you post a log, you are providing me with all the information that I need in a single step.

Sorry :)  The games were Robotron and Bubbles.. I didn't try out all the Williams titles, but at a cursory glance, the resolution was incorrect on both of them: too small.  I have to put the logs from my games when I get a chance (have to move from one computer to another that I don't always have access to).  I didn't know if the problems were akin to the ones I had with the Capcom games.  Not sure if anyone else was running into the same issue.  Does Robotron and Bubbles look okay on yours?  I'll post the log soon, hopefully.  Thanks!

Modeline/resolution issues aside, I've run into this problem on regular mame with my lcd monitor. To fix it I just added a williams.ini  with value "view standard" and that fixes it for me on both regular and groovymame.
