Does anyone actually have/use one in their spare room/garage/shop(lucky bastard)?
All of my tools are either inherited or for whatever reason have no such vacuum attachment.
Since I don't really have a dedicated shop space anymore (I didn't have one before but that's a long store in and of itself) I never really saw the need for a total vacuum solution. I do most of my cutting outside, weather permitting or however much my neighbors piss me off with their damn Harleys. Then I just sweep the sawdust aside to feed the grasses if it's "natural" or sweep it up if it's not.
However, I just recently clogged my wife's sander (I can't find my belt sander so I was forced to use her um... non-belt sander) and I got an earful from her for it.
I really want to get a wet/dry vacuum (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,122446.0.html) but I'm thinking it's going to die a horrible death like everything does in this house. So maybe one of those 5 gallon tubs or 35lb plastic cat litter bins (http://www.target.com/p/purina-tidy-cats-instant-action-cat-litter-35-lb/-/A-11292425) I always seem to have around with a partition inside to capture the heavy particles, a panty hose filter, some PVC pipe and a tool adapter.
It's an idea. Just wondering if anyone even bothers with it.

I have set up my whole shop with dust collection. Most of my machinery came with dust collection ports but some didn't. I sealed the jointer with luan and installed a port. I fabricated a overarm table saw dust port. The miter saw sites in front of a dust collection hood. I have a downdraft table for sanding. I have a port on my router fence that I made. Most of my machinery is on wheels so I have the PVC pipe up in the ceiling with flexible piping coming down to connect to the machinery when needed. Blast gates are everywhere. It can be a pain in the butt but it is worth not having the dust everywhere. I have a JDS dust collector. Just a 2hp with no cyclone preseparator or anything like that. Works fine for me. They make portable models too. Harbor Freight has a cheap one that would be oodles better than a shop vac which gets clogges very easily with sawdust.
