Title: Thoughts on NEStopia ?
Post by: mike boss on September 07, 2012, 12:06:42 pm
In the process of finalizing my Mario Mame project.
I'm getting all my emulators installed and configured.
Reading about NEStopia I know it has easy keyboard configuration (like ZSNES).
I'm leaning towards installing this vs FCEUlatra.

Thoughts on the emulator ?

Other suggest emulators to use with MaLa ?

I have NEStopia set up and I'm liking it.
It was easy to configure it to match the default MAME keys.
I have it set to exit on ESCAPE (which works perfect with MaLa).
It boots full screen and the resolution is set to 1024 x 768 as required, but the image doesn't fill the screen.
Can I fix this ?

NEStopia doesn't recognize any buttons from any of my joypads :(
I'm still looking for a decent NES-emulator. I had fceux before but with that I can't get 2 Player to work properly. No matter how the keys are set up, the buttons for the second player are always turbo :(

I think Nestopia has the best accuracy and compatibility out of all the NES emulators, but you can't turn on v-sync without inducing noticable input delay in your controls.  If you dont' mind the screen tearing, have at it.  Otherwise, stick with FCEUltra.
