Title: Lockdown bar for "Gottlieb by Premier" Genesis cabinet
Post by: HanoiBoi on September 07, 2012, 07:28:45 am
I picked up a gutted cab that appears to be an old Genesis machine.  The bottom piece of the lockdown bar is intact, but there's no top piece.  None of the lockdown bars that I have on hand fit.  How can I identify and find the correct lockdown bar aside from trial and error?

(Cabinet looks like this one, found on ipdb: http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=996&picno=13312 (http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=996&picno=13312))

best bet call pinball resource/Steve- he's the go-to Gottlieb guy.  pbresource.com.

Agreed, just don't get offended if he yells at you when you don't know the part number.

Thanks for the replies.  I did email PB Resources and received a cordial reply.  They do say they’ve got a used one for $42 plus shipping.  Not to sound cheap, but I’m really hoping to keep costs down (was hoping for half that).

Jim, that 20 year range you mentioned…is that to say that any Gottlieb lockdown bar from 1976-1996 is compatible with that machine?  Or must it be ‘Gottlieb/Premier’?   This is what I’m unsure of.

Same company, same parts.  $42 is pretty good for even a used lockdown bar.  new ones are $120-200.

Thanks for the advice.  Sorry if my expectations were off.  I have purchased a Williams lockdown bar before for 9.99 + 12.00 shipping, so I guess I didn't think a Gottlieb would be much different.

Again, not cheap...just trying to see how low I can keep costs on a second VP build.  So far, I've shaved off over 800 from the first build and look to be just under 1200 at the moment.
