Setting up my new MaLa PC, trying to get everything working perfect.
I installed my SNES emulator and set the hotkeys in MaLa so I could exit via escape.
That works great.
Except now when I escape out of the game and try to launch another (SNES game) it says the emulator is still running.
It asks if I want to kill the process, if I do I can boot another game, however now I can't escape.
Anything I can do to resolve this ?

This is driving me nutts !
I looked to make sure I didn't change anything and it looks like all is good.
Yet I still get this warning.
-
I should perhaps add.
At one piont during my testing I had changed the hotkey option to ALT + F4 = escape.
I changed it back to read the same way it does in all others.
(As I use the hotkey to exit Dreamcast emulation, and Magic Engine)
Could this be the reason for the error ?

Is the emu set to close on game exit? It's an emu fault not a Mala fault. Make sure that the box for that is ticked. Which Snes emu are you using?

I'd need to check the EMU options re: close game on exit.
I didn't change anything, so it would be a standard (stock) setting.
I'm using zsnes, version I'd need to check when I get in.

Open zsnesw.cfg with notepad and edit the following line from "guioff=0" to "guioff=1". this will disable the GUI, making changes impossible from within the application. You can change this back at any time to make configuration changes via the main menu. This SHOULD cause ZSNES to exit the app and back to MALA with the ESC key (or whatever key you set in the GUI then saved)

Thanks man, first thing when I get home I'll make the change and post the result.
Thanks again !
This new project.....................SHEESH.......................soooo much work !

I'm running zsnes on mine, if that doesn't work I'll pop the hood and see what my setup and config is.

@ Le Chuck
Thanks. I'm on this right when I get home.
Appreciate the help.

Ok, I tried a fresh install of zsnes 1.51 but still had the same problem.
I've configured my joysticks to match MAME standard, for 1 is 1 player start, 2 is 2 player start.
5 (credit) is select, and 6 select player 2. All be it I don't have a button for such.
I did modify some of the options in background/layer, as buttons 1 and 2 were used by the emulator for that specific task. I changed them to 7 & 8.
However the issue persists.

In the zsnes gui menu options do you have the box checked for "allow multiple instances of emu"?
This could help, maybe not: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13820 (http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13820)

I'll take a read of the links posted, thanks for posting.
I do have ALLOW FOR MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF EMU checked.

Think I've resolved my issue :
Disable the GUI as advised (thanks).
Then modified the HOTKEYS in MaLa to be ALT + F4
Seems to have done the trick !
Now I have 3 SNES emulators installed ! lol

Glad I could be of some help!

I've done sooooo much work on this PC as of late, and I've been doing @ night when the wifey passes out.
I think the tired eyes have really caught up !
I could have sworn I had this working prior, but you get so exhausted !
Either way....IT'S FIXED ! Thank gosh !
And not like it takes up tons of space, but now I have SNES9X and ZSNES, so it's all good.
Even Nintendo I have NEStopia and FECUltra (of which I need to configure).
Anyway no need to ramble !
Thanks again

SOLVED :
Open zsnesw.cfg with notepad and edit the following line from "guioff=0" to "guioff=1". this will disable the GUI, making changes impossible from within the application.
Once done go into MaLa, edit the hotkey to read ALT + F4
