Hey, so I want access to the art files but don't want to just send $10 off into the ether. Can anyone confirm that they have become a member and gained access to the files?
Front page says a "new site" is coming... that was in Oct. of 2010...

What are you looking for? A few of us have local mirrors of the archive.

My joymonkey password still works and to my knowledge JoyMonkey is still issuing passwords. He's just not around these parts as much these days. Busing building R2 bots or some-such time suck.

Le Chuck- thanks!
Chad- I'm looking for art assets for a possible custom multi-pede project... so basically all the Millipede and Centipede stuff- sides, cpo, marquee, bezels, instructions, cocktail underlays and cpo, etc. Would you have access to that, by any chance?

Alright, I ended up sending a donation today and he got me a log-in super quick. I think I may have underestimated the site though... a lot of the file names are .psd or .ai in the gallery but all I can download is .jpegs. Is it just a .jpeg archive or are there other types as well? Big jpegs are better than nothing but I was hoping I could get some raw assets to edit and rearrange.
-
Bump... I guess it is just jpegs, but at least I have some good source files to be vectored now. Still interested in vector files of Centipede and Millipede stuff if anyone has a secret stash.
-
Some of the stuff is vector in there but most is high res scans. Some of the .jpgs are actual size so they print quite nicely. A lot depends on which cab you're looking at. Most of this stuff was a group buy from a now defunct printer I believe.

Thanks. I guess what threw me off is for instance I see "Millipede CPO.psd" (http://coinopart.com/art/index.php?option=com_rsgallery2&page=inline&id=1364&catid=22&limitstart=119 (http://coinopart.com/art/index.php?option=com_rsgallery2&page=inline&id=1364&catid=22&limitstart=119)) but when I go to download it, it ends up being "Millipede CPO.psd.jpg"... kind of a tease.

OK, not going to beat a dead horse but will bump this one more time with a question- can anyone else who has access to the site give me an example of a download that isn't a .jpg or a .pdf? The file names on the pages are typically .psd or .ai so I can't imagine the site is working properly when it gives me .jpgs as downloads. I emailed the guy who runs it a week ago and have not heard back yet. Would kill for those files to actually be design files instead of flattened, compressed jpegs.
Not trying to stir anything up (still better that what I can find on the net for many games), just trying to make sure I am using the site correctly.

Background as to why JPGs can be found in the original group buy thread:

Thanks... after a quick scan it looks like it was all compressed to jpg to save space... what a shame, I would love to "remix" some of those editable files for some future projects. And the idea of converting the illustrator files to jpeg to save space is pretty backwards (although I see where they were coming from with all the .psds, etc.). It looks like someone, somewhere, has the original files, but it would be less time consuming to re-vectorize some of it myself than track down who has them (and no printer is going to share their files).
So, I guess the call still stands- anyone who happens to have access to the original files in their editable form- let me know, I need a few things. Again, I don't mind paying the $10 donation, but the filenames on the site are deceiving.

hey guys, I think I basically have the same question. Do I just make a $10 donation and wait for a login??
-
Yes, I can confirm that it is still active. But be aware, the file names don't indicate what kind of files they are- they are all jpegs. :(

I paid about a week or two ago and got my info within minutes.
