Hi all,
Bought an old Tekken 2 the other day with a Samsung picture tube, Semco DSE-1992NL flyback and a Kortek chassis. Details are: home.comcast.net/.../files/Kortek_KT-1420A_repair_guide.pdf
Anyways as soon as I attempted to change the colour drive on red and blue, the colour went completely (green remained). Ended up de-soldering the trimpots, and sure enough, they were dead. So I went and bought a couple of replacements today and have now realised that the leg configuration on the new ones is different from the old ones and all the other ones I can find have this same configuration. I cant solder this configuration in as I wont be able to rotate the trim!
I thought about getting horizontal trims but I would need to mount them on the pcb side of the neck connector which is a bit messed up.
Any suggestions anyone?
Also, I stupidly disconnected the yoke from the chassis without noting which way around it is supposed to be connected. I have a yellow, green, red, blue and I dont know if it goes on connector A or B (or which way around it goes :banghead:). Any help would be appreciated...

Should be written on the board as to the color combinations.
Also all depends on where you are located.
In Australia i use Element14 to buy replacement parts.
Us i believe its Radio shack online and digikey ? just not the pin configuration.

You my friend, are a champion. I just looked on the Element14 site and they have so many different trimpots that I eventually found the right ones!

Check out the pic I just took of the chassis, no colour coding in sight and there are two options for where to connect the yoke. Is that normal?

The reason there are 2 connectors for the yoke is probably just for flipping.
the yellow and green wires are for the vertical section and the red and blue wires are for the horizontal section.
plug the yoke into connector B with the yellow wire toward the flybacks direction, if the graphics are upside down, try it in the A connector with the yellow wire opposite from the flybacks direction.

yeah it's a little weird to see it flipped around like that, but i guess they did that to keep the circuit traces and points of failure as short as possible.
as long as you don't mix up the horizontal (red blue) with the vertical (yellow green)
most chassis space the horizontal pins slightly further apart than the vertical making inserting them difficult.
