Title: Shatners "Common People"
Post by: danny_galaga on September 03, 2012, 04:06:07 am
I was hoping to find a clip of William Shatners "Common People" on the weekend. There isn't an offical clip, but I found this

"Fan" Star Trek Original Series Clip to "Common People" by William Shatner (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI3UfxyIdgs#)

Which is awesome! I can't understand how it isn't absolutely the most watched version on youtube. It's a crying shame. So I'm here to spread the love (",)

I started my day with this today .... :laugh2:  and it is awesome.  I could never get into (other than the movies) anything but the original series, great stuff.

Thanks Danny.

Then you are doing yourself a great disservice.  While some of the other spin-offs are questionable, TNG is probably the best sci-fi show of that era.  It was genre defining to the point of being able to watch ANY scifi show today and have it's plot rooted in a concept already explored in a TNG episode.

I mean StarGate SG1 and Farscape, in particular, were pretty blatent in just lifting ideas.

Can we puhleeze not muddy this awesome appreciation of "Common People" with a ST convo?  Not that ST isn't the bees knees, but just vibe out to Common People man.  Do you feel that?  Do you feel that rhythm?

I don't think I ever heard the whole version of this song. I had originally found it because I was looking for the original Pulp song, but I quickly tired of the "joke" a few seconds in.

But this video kept me watching and listening. Really, really well done and fits perfectly.
