Title: pc lighting for the marquee
Post by: thaddeussmith on August 29, 2012, 01:23:22 pm
any reason not to use a few (or a handful) of these to light the marquee? easy to daisy chain and automatic on/off with the computer, led so they won't burn out, much less heat, less likely to discolor or melt the marquee.

If it's bright enough, go for it.  I got something similar like that from a friend that came from IKEA.  It was like 4 bars like that and I already had a connection from my 5V that fit it and it works great.

It's this one, but I got it free, probably not worth $30

Get a cold cathode tube from ebay. I tried those lights once, but the cold cathode ones are much brighter.

Great tip. Not bad for $9.95 and free shipping for TWO.

My older GGG bars keep flaking out (Randy has since updated them to a better design). So I've been looking for a new replacement.
