Title: For the beginner: Proper precautions for a tri-sync (or any arcade monitor)?
Post by: TJCOMBO on August 20, 2012, 04:45:43 pm
Considering I dropped a big chunk of change for this monitor, what are the not-so-obvious precautions I should take to properly care for this tri-sync monitor?  Anything to worry about with it plugged into the computer as long as I don't do anything aside from the obvious... ( i.e. put magnets up to it, spill water on the circuit board, plug it into to the wrong outlet)  I have a built MAME machine and I am new to the hobby, so monitors aren't things I deal with day to day.  I didn't see proper precautions in the FAQ so I thought I would ask here.

Just two concerns since purchasing:
I have played games where there was the wrong setting and I could hear a clicking sound that wasn't pleasant, which I think is the monitor trying to find the right resolution, I then had to turn off the computer since it got locked up.. will that damage it? Also when I had it set in Windows with 640x480 display, there was a darkish blob in the upper right hand corner.  What's that all about?
