I want to build a juke to go in the gameroom to keep my cab company. I want it to be touch screen but what little I've found re: touch screens screams stupidly expensive. Any links or suggestions about touch screens or adding touch screen to an existing LCD?
Goal is a small, wall mounted juke.
I realize there is a jukebox section, but it seems to be geared toward the front end of things.

You can find many 15" elo touchscreens on eBay for about 50-100$ I just made one not to long ago
Also you can get a touch panel overlay in many sizes 22" runs 100+

The elo touchscreens you mention, does the touch look like a mouse to the comp? Yay - more research!

Slippy, I've picked up two ELOs on eBay for $80 shipped. You can find them.

I've usually paid a bit more for mine.
Bought around 5 ELOs off fleabay over the past few years ranging $110-130 with shipping.
These are the ones with a complete housing and sometimes stands though.
Stick it on the wall or on the bartop, set up software...done.
The condition of the touchscreens has varied from perfect to having to use your whole thumb in some areas.
The ones from individuals have been a lot better condition than those from the bulk liquidators.
WalMart was selling brand new ones with a warranty for around $300 last time I checked.

I just bought an Acer t230H 23" touchscreen for $289 cad, 3 yr warranty. Haven't set it up yet, but I'm mounting it above the marquee on the cab, running xbmc on the touch, and roms via hyperspin on the cabs 25" crt. (in a perfect world). The cab is already set up. This is just an addition.

I turned a 17in laptop into a tablet with a touchscreen a few years ago. Also my workbench has a touchscreen monitor i put together. Here is a link to where I got the touchscreen panels to fit over the monitor. They are only single touch but would work wonders for a jukebox build.

You can also find them on ebay relatively cheap.

Huh. I'm liking these touch panel overlays. My daughter keeps begging for a drawing tablet, I may just have to get an overlay and slap it on an LCD for her.
So many ideas now... Thanks guys!
