Hi guys, had this 4 player konami tmnt/main event cab for a little over 12 mths now, and I am wanting to put a fluorescent bulb in the marquee, currently the bulb I have in this is not a fluorescent bulb and gives a really dim light up to the marquee. I purchased what I thought was a fluorescent bulb earlier this week, but it was way too small, and its not a bulb at all, its a starter :banghead:

What I ended up buying is a model 'FG-1E 120 Volt - 10 to 30 Watt Fluorescent Starter'
I saw 120v, 10-30W description on amazon and automatically thought it was a bulb :banghead:, after watching a youtube video on fluroescent bulbs for arcades I realize what I bought was a starter, whoops :banghead:
Are there fluorescent bulbs that I can use with my marquee as is, or do I need a whole new fluorescent light set-up?
this is the bulb in the marquee with the plexiglass removed
any help would be appreciated
thx

looks like a light bulb to me. It looks like has an odd sized E17 socket. I doubt you will be able to easily find a florescent type bulb to put in there.
to measure the screw you measure the base diameter including the threads... the number in millimeters is the E# ... a standard lightbulb base is E27
If you are wanting something brighter you could pick up a florescent "under counter light" to place in there.

you should be able to cut off the socket and the plug for your light and wire it straight onto the wires (no polarity)
