So for about 4-5 years I've wanted to build a cabinet, bought buttons/sticks and built 2 fightsticks for my fiance and I and just had a desktop computer plugged into the tv for mame. Now that we have a house I was able to find a space for one. Had an unused bar/cabinet area close to the kitchen and decided to go with that. I'm new to woodworking so this was my first time using a router/speed square/jigsaw/etc lol. Seen my dad using them growing up but never was interested.

That's the progress so far. I work offshore so I had it running for my last day home, left for 3 weeks, came back home and now I have to leave again to go take a class. My trackball mount, longer joystick shafts, and t-molding came in while I was away. I plan on filling/sanding, painting, and installing t molding when I get back from the class next week.
My only issue I ran into was the shafts I ordered were for the JLF sticks, I have JLW's. I bottom mounted the sticks to the 3/4" MDF so they are a little short. No big deal but I ordered 2 shafts that don't work with my stick. Might end up going with Mag-Stik Plus's in the future anyway. But for now, my budget mame cabinet works!

that looks like its going to be very fun to play on.
what exactly did you use for your amp to power those computer speakers?
if my computer hacked speakers do not work i might have to switch to something like that.
hopefully my wife (newly married) takes the time to play my two player bartop with me as well ;D

I'd suggest running up to best buy and getting a cheapie westinghouse TV or something to better fill that monitor hole. Build looks really good though!

The speakers are Alpine Type-S 5 1/4" car audio speakers, the amp is a Lepai 25w x 2.

The monitor is a 19". I have bigger monitors but they are widescreen, wanted a 4:3 LCD to keep this slim and reduce the weight. My parents have an old 36" tv they'll give me for the next project if I decide to use it xD
I only spent $10 on the monitor, I spent right at $200 on this build since I already had the computer, buttons, sticks.
