Title: programming ipac
Post by: joe35car on July 29, 2012, 03:23:38 pm
OK noob here and have a question. I recently had to replace my I-pac4 and I put everything exactly in the same spot as the old one. Everything is working but I have 7 keys that show up on the winipac test mode as f5 f6 f7 f8 f10 f11 f12. How do I reprogram these keys say to the num keyboard 1-7? Having these as f numbers conflicts with mame default keys. I'm stuck and need to know how to change these settings.

Thanks

Attached is my layout for the ipac4

Now it doesn't recognize the 8 buttons I had a problem with earlier. The ultimarc 360 and my flight stick. The ultimarc works because it moves under the ultra map software but not under the test mode in the ipac4. I'm getting frustrated and ready to just heave the whole thing out the window. Spent over 800 dollars on this CP and just disappointed. I need to reprogram my ipac4 but dont know how. Any help would be great. I emailed andy at ultimarc mameroom and posted here.

Thanks

Am dealing with this by email but note that its usually not necessary to reprogram an I-PAC at all. The default code set does not include the F keys so either it has already been reprogrammed or there is some other software running on the PC which is generating these keys.

email sent Andy and yes it was weird that around 8 keys showed up under F numbers which interfere with mame defaults settings. I don't want to mess with mames defaults. Like I said there were 8 inputs that used f5 f6 f7 f8 f10 f11 f12. Like I said I attached everything exactly the same way from when it was hooked up previously. Thanks for the help.
