Title: pc help needed (startup, monitor)
Post by: yup on October 06, 2003, 04:51:45 pm
hey there

i remember someone mentioning earlier that it's possible to start up your pc by just hitting the space bar. is this a bios thing or a os thing, or what? basically, how can i do this?

part 2 -  i'm trying to resize the picture on my monitor, and it appears the little nubbin/buttons on my monitor are broken. is there any way resize using software (and no, i don't mean just change the resolution, i mean change the way the screen is centered, how tall, how wide, etc)

thanks in advance

the pc startup is a bios thing...

I don't know of anyway to adjust the monitor settings like that with software...

there is software that can do it. I know my latest nvidia drivers are capable of changing the screen size...  do a search on google and I bet there is freeware/shareware software that you can download.

Powerstrip comes to mind, I think that might be what you are looking for.

The bootup by hitting space thing is a BIOS feature, check your bios for similar features, I can even set what keys needs to be pressed for it to boot, pressing my player1 and player2 keys boots my cab  :P
