What are the top THREE ROMs do you just play the LIFE out of?
-
Galaga
Marvel Vs Capcom
-
'88 Games is my most played games. We've got a neighborhood competition going on now for the world records.
I still reign supreme with 16,000 in skeet shooting. :)
-
Robotron, hands down.
TMNT (Son's choice)
Mortal Kombat
-
I used to play Track and field until I found the "Run like hell" cheat.
Time pilot, Galaga and Gauntlet2
-
Capt Commando (So what if I like a Zombie with twin shivs). Three Wonders (either of the games with the Elves(?) not the block game). Gauntlet II (though Smash TV and Total Carnage get alot of action when I have friends over).
Clok
-
Robotron: 2084 (of course!)
Millipede
Mr. Do!
Lineup subject to change... ;)
Kevin
-
Time Pilot
Mortal Kombat 1
Galaga
Donkey Kong Jnr

wonder boy in monster land
uo poko (wifes favorite)
berserk and robotron both get played everytime I start up my cab
-
Tapper
Ms. Pacman (oh yeah, how do you speed it up with mamewah as FE?)
Donkey Kong
NBA Jam
and I recently found this simple but compete-for-hi-score-while-drunk game called Bull Fight. It's a simple top-view bull fighter game but once you get the hang of it it's pretty fun.
-
Lately:
Lunar Lander (Go StarRoms, I own it legally)
1942 (I own the PCB)
Mr. Do! (Soon to own cabinet)
-
GALAGA!!
TMNT/ Simpsons
DoDonPachi (lately anyway)
-
Super SF2 Turbo
Metal Slug 2
Tetris
-
I'm glad that there are lots of Galagas! This may be an aside, but what is your best high score w/o continues?
Mine was around 127,000 on a Galaga/Ms. Pacman machine, (Not my own arcade!). Unfortunately, continues were on, so the highscore of the machine was 999,000.
-
Mortal Kombat (mainly just the first one)
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Undercover Cops
World Class Bowling
Galaga/Frogger/Robotron when I'm in the mood.
I used to play NBA Maximum Hangtime *all* the time, until I finished it (beat every team), haven't touched it since.
-
currently:
Dig Dug
Donkey Kong Jr.
Joust
ALSO: Galaga gets a lot of play all the time! ;D
-
My best score on Galaga 378,000 without continues ( but with using the no fire cheat ) --BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type-- I gave up and hit escape.
Without the cheat around 200,000.
-
Galaga and Joust. I hope the MAME team gets the emulation in Galaga 100 % soon. :)
-
Super Punch-Out!! (407,200 points)
Punch-Out!! (430,080 points)
Street Fighter II (points are pointless in that game)
-
joust
spy hunter
UMK3
my ladies favs.....
Arkanoid (esp since I got an actual spinner)
Quiz & Dragons
Tetris Plus
-
1. Robotron
2. Defender
3. Berzerk
-
Galaga and Joust. I hope the MAME team gets the emulation in Galaga 100 % soon. :)
It USED to be 100 percent.
I play Galaga's on location all the time, and I cannot tell the difference. Whatever it is is so minor that I don't even really think it warrants a notice.
-
Asteroids
Asteroids Deluxe
Asteroids
-
Asteroids (it still rocks!)
Pirate Ship Higemaru
Son of Phoenix
-
Gyruss
Galaga
Track & Field
-

Without the cheat around 200,000.
I used that cheat in the arcade once, and turned the game over (999,999+1) and played a while longer...got bored.
Playing now, I get around 300,000 no cheats or anything. :D
-
Missile Command
Neo Turf-Masters
R-Type
-

I knocked out a score around 300K once on a reunion machine that was set to speed up. It was just a fluke though. My high score at home is somewhere around 220K.

-
Well my cab isn't quite ready yet, but extensive play tests have shown the number one game is without a doubt:
Bubble Bobble
I'm astonished no one has mentioned this gem! Two player co-operative games rule IMO. I'll let you know what else creeps into the top 3 later.
-
Last night I found a pretty cool game called Dimahoo, its a 19xx style game but with really cool enemies and cool ships.
http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=D&game_id=7585 (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=D&game_id=7585)

I'm glad to see Money Puzzle Exchanger in peoples' lists. I think it is one of the best puzzle games made.
World Class Bowling is one of the best Trackball games-- and 4 people can play even if you don't have an insane 4 player CP.
Mr. TNT is an interesting variation on pacman.
And I'll have some new games high on the list, once I get my TV lightgun:
Duck Hunt
Police Trainer
Area 51

burger time
joust
berserk

Well, my trackball is out right now, so it's Super Basketball and Champion Baseball lately. For my 9-year old daughter it's King of Fighters '98 and Outrun. When the trackball comes back, World Class Bowling will be added to that list. If I ever get my 360 degree wheels installed, Pole Position and Championship Sprint are liable to end up in the top spots.
And my wife only plays Centipede.
--Chris
-
Only 3 -_-
Galaga (Played 5x more then any game)
Super Puzzle Fighters 2 Turbo
Track and Field
D&D: SoM

Metal slug (all versions)

Once i get my actual cab up i'll be playing alot of Police Trainer and Marble Madness.

Only three?
1) Super Puzzle Fighter
far and away the most played game on my cabinet. And the only game that EVERYONE loves - even non-videogame people
2) Galaga
A classic that never seems to get old
3) Metal Slug series
Some of the best games i've ever played and TONS of fun with two players. I think i like #3 the best. Getting turned into a zombie rules. :)
Runners Up:
Ms Pac Man
Uo Poko
Centipede
Burger Time
Joust
Magical Drop
194X series
-
SF2 - my favorite
Samurai Showdown IV
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo - my wifes favorite
-
Hmm... I'm gonna have to agree that Dimahoo is truly a fun game, but my most frequent plays have been in Kawaks, and I've been playing Marvel vs Capcom, Xmen vs Street Fighter, Mars Matrix, and also I play a lot of Guwange using Raine. Mame supports this game fine, but I like the way it looks more in Raine. If you love creative vertical shooters definitely give Guwange a try. My mame's been a bit dry recently because all people around here play is Marvel vs Capcom 2, so I've been getting super good at that game, got it for my roomies modded ps2. I also recently umm.. acquired Guilty Gear XX Reload for ps2 as well, haven't really had a chance to get everyone around here into it, but I played it a bit before, and that game is seriously the best Guilty Gear there is. It's hella fun to start up some huge combo and see what you can get to connect.
-Games I used to play obsessively but have calmed down from:
King of Fighters 2002 (NrX)
Rage of the Dragons (Kawaks)
Dodonpachi (Raine)
Black Tiger (Mame)
Samurai Showdown 4 (NrX)

Man, that's a toughf decision to make...
Well, imaging that i have a weekend out with
a mamecab that only has 3 roms:
1943 (Hell yeah)
Cadillacs and Dinossaurs (Man, this game took me lots of meals ;D)
Pinball Action (I already made a record that gave me the EXTRA CREDIT ;D)
The rest is classic too but this games were the most addictive to me! :)
-
(Man, this game took me lots of meals ;D)
Ha ha... Back when Double Dragon came out I was in the Boy Scouts and we took a week long trip down to Philadelphia. We checked out all the tourist sites. Then one day we went to the Mall, where we saw Double Dragon for the first time. The only money we had was for food for the trip. We kept playing Double Dragon all day, and for every couple of games we knew that we were spending another meal for the week, but we didn't care. Anyway, Double Dragon took me lots of meals.
-
I know exactly what you mean. I used to take the transit bus system to school. I was maybe 10-11 years old. My dad would always give me a couple extra quarters just incase I got lost so I could call someone in an emergency. My Dad was the greatest though because he'd alway give me a few quarters once in a while just for video games.
So I'd leave early to school. Go to the corner store where the rest of the guys in my class would waiting with our quarters lined between the edge of the cp and bezel waiting for our turn to play Double dragon.
every week I had to get my emergency quarters replenished. Dad was great, I said "Sorry Dad I lost my quarters" I was well known for losing everything and anything. He'd just say "Again!?" in amazement and hand me more quarters from his change pouch!
It was tough getting a game in though there was alway 8-12 kids waiting to play at times! You had to get there early! Man those were good times! :)
(Man, this game took me lots of meals ;D)

Galaga

If I ever get my 360 degree wheels installed, Pole Position and Championship Sprint are liable to end up in the top spots.
Since I hooked up my 360 degree steering wheel (from an "Off Road"), I can't get enough of Pole Position I and II, Championship Sprint, and Super Sprint. It's not even installed yet. It's a steering wheel still in the metal bracket with raw wires going to the Optipac. I don't even have a gas pedal hooked up yet. I just hold one hand on a button (for gas), and steer with the other hand. What a riot!
I also love to play Robotron with the dual joysticks and Crazy Climber.
And of course, I am completely addicted to Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, and Space Dual.

-
Spyhunter (with custom built controller just for this game) ;D
Pacman (I stunk at this game when it first came out, now I'm addicted)
Crazy Climber (I remember playing this as a Penn State Student -- I was the first in East Halls to clear the 4th building) 8)
-
Doesnt anyone like Gyruss? That games is great.
