Title: Sticky thread....or not?

   As a girl jen built dollhouses....Using a model airplane glue,(Ambroid for those that remember) The fumes of that glue would knock you off your stool,
but a strong bond. Today this same glue has a non sniffing formula and in theory is a "better" glue. Now to the point Jennifer has taken it upon herself
to put various adhesives to to test....The results were quite disappointing, Epoxies in particular, Loctite fared the worst, never really dried hard, just a
spongy mess, I froze the samples, I baked them, everything I could think of....Dismal bonds, although still stronger than most woods.
     Now I am quite curious as to find out what your favorite glues are.

UPDATE....Just in case anyone is reading this, The JB clear epoxy,part B was already hard upon opening package (must have been quite old) This one
didn't get tested....The gray (machinable) JB, Hardened just fine, drilled nice, would be a bit skeptical of using it on a permanent fix however I did
manage to crack it (cold and hammer) also not really pointed at the wood market....Gorilla 5min epoxy, This one pleases Jennifer so far, It set up
at the 5 min. dried hard, and passed the freeze and smash test, also reasonably priced.

Are we talking "glue" glues or epoxies or wood glues/epoxies?  There are so many different categories here and so many of glues and epoxies rely on specific materials.

For instance, Gorilla glue recommends you get the surface damp before gluing.  So before I say what I like using can you elaborate on what are the criteria?

I have no idea how accurate their suggestions are but I think it's kinda cool that this site even exists...

That is an interesting site, I will be giving some of those products a try....As for what Jen glues, Every job is different, I do however spray solvent based
finishes on wood, The chemical of the paint(not to exclude acetone), Potentially weakens the bond, Or reanimating it. For this reason I
do favor epoxies....Although I'm Primarily talking wood or reconstructive putties, All glue reviews and there uses would be welcome.
