Not sure if its okay to post a MAME machine here. I purchased the machine like this and didnt do the conversion myself for what its worth.
Midway Gorf cocktail. Older computer machine running dos and Arcade OS.
(per forum rules, I'll remove roms before pickup)
Ms Pacman reunion joysticks at both ends.
More info and pics (http://dweebs0r.blogspot.com/2007/10/new-toy-original-midway-gorf-cocktail.html)

Thank you for the bump and the kind words. Make some room and I'll make you a good deal. :) I really would rather this go to someone who can appreciate it.

Can't believe I'm saying this, since I've always been a MAME enthusiast who dislikes being scolded by arcade purists, but if I had that I think I'd restore it to just playing GORF with original hardware. I'm in VA, but after all the bank I've dropped on my two MAME projects I don't think I could spend more on yet another one, and I think my wife would probably divorce me. I do have some space upstairs in the "man cave", though. ;)
Umm... and I seriously don't need to make myself want this thing any more than I already do, but any chance you could post a video of its operation on YouTube, or at least some stills of the innards and/or menu screens?
-
Sure. Here are some older pics of the kids playing frogger.

I would be happy to post a video if you are truly interested in the purchase. For the $400 asking price, I will include a Wells Gardner VGA monitor with very low hours on it. I kept it to replace the monitor for the eventual time I would need to replace it. I bought this monitor new and its in perfect shape. I probably have 800 or more in the whole shebang.

??? Uh, yeah... that was the original "more info" link. Anyway, I'm completely not serious, so don't worry about it. I just thought you might have other pics showing the actual conversion (i.e., whether it was done gently or a complete hack job). Given that I'd have to drive to Memphis (and I have no desire to see Graceland), I would be more comfortable at $200. I'm sure you couldn't do that, but you mentioned you got it in trade and you don't seem to be getting bites, so I just figured $200 was a good "take it off your hands for you" offer. I'd even have to rent some sort of truck since there's no guarantee I could squeeze this into either my car or the wife's, or that either vehicle wouldn't break down on the way back with the extra weight.
The extra monitor wouldn't be necessary if I did buy it, but are you saying the monitor needs replacing? My only interest in it is that I loved GORF as a kid (played on my beloved VIC-20 as opposed to an actual machine), and if everything's original it would make a great restoration project. Assuming the menu system was easy enough to use and looked decent, and the K6-2 was installed with care, I could see keeping it as a "40-in-1". Coincidentally, my first attempt at a MAME cabinet was also powered by a 300MHz K6-2, so that caught my attention right away. I guess now that I'm already well-covered in terms of MAME, the urge to go out and preserve dedicated cabinets is creeping up. Short of a miracle, I doubt I could help you, as much as I'd REALLY like to. :banghead:

Ok, well I'll try to get out there and shoot a quick video of it using the cell phone in case anyone else is interested. My bottom line is $400. I would rather keep it than just give it away. Funny thing is that with all of the games installed on it, Gorf is not one of them.

LOL... too funny. I'd love to see the video... hope it gets you some interest. Don't know if you saw it, but I just edited my post to mention that my first try at MAME was powered by a 300MHz K6-2, so that rang a bell with me.
Best of luck, and I'll definitely let you know if anything changes on my end.

Gameplay video. Not great quality. Ignore the messy garage. Part of why I am selling this thing is to empty out and clean the heck out of the garage.

I'd love to get it but Im 99% sure the shipping cost kills it
-
I might trade this for the right bartop or jukebox is anyone is interested.
