Title: ArcadeOs taking a long time to boot
Post by: rick6668 on May 16, 2002, 05:28:03 am
Did anyone else have this problem?  I had about 150 roms loaded on my machine and ArcadeOs would load rather quickly.  I recently added a whole bunch of roms ~2000 and now when I boot up it takes 2-3 minutes for ArcadeOS to boot.  Is this normal because of the number of roms I've loaded?

Also, I've had trouble disabling the shift key in ArcadeOS which prompted me to re-install ArcadeOS completely, now my sounds for selecting a game, exiting ArcadeOS and such are not working at all..  I have the sound files in the ArcadeOS directory and the sound is working fine in the games..

Any ideas???
Thanks,
Rick

In the arcadeos.cfg file there is an entry:

#don't check for new games at startup
instantstart=0

Set it to 1 and that should speed things up a bit.  As for the ESC key, I believe it is a bug in ArcadeOS.
