Title: Arcade Chassis, Normal TV???

Hi all, this is probably answered somewhere but I'm not even sure what to search for.  The cab I'm working on had a blow'd up monitor in it.  Local Goodwill was clearing out all their old tube TV's for $1 each so I took the cab's bezel down and sized up a TV that fit it.  Decased the TV and it mounted into the cab perfectly using the pre-existing mounting brackets.  Works like a charm.  Only problem is that it is a TV - channels, video 1, etc.  I read in another thread something about replacing the electronics on a TV with a standard arcade monitor board.

Is this a real thing?  How would I do that and what would any benefits be?

I know self-bumps are bad, but it's been two days with no replies.  Anybody know about this?

you would need to match the deflection yoke to the chassis,to do this you need to read inductance and impedence of both vertical and horizontal windings.Also neck pinout/size must match

I've been trying to ask about this as well.  What would the benefits be, aside from the TV accepting RGBS, which I've already accomplished with an RGB to component transcoder.

Would it be possible to turn a 15kHz TV into a TriSync monitor with a custom chassis?

Who's making them?

I am not aware of any chassis that will work on 15khz yokes,all tri sync I have worked with are 0.300mh to 0.195mh horizontal
someone mentioned jomac in Australia had some new tri sync chassis

The major advantage with the arcade chassis is that they normally (always) has a lot of possibilities to tweak the image. And that is more or less necessary to play different games with perfect geometry/size etc.
Some TV's has a service menu that can alter most of the settings, but a couple of potentiometers is convenient.

And as stated before, as long as you have the same pin configuration and the same coil values you are good to go :)
