Title: Setting and Saving 'Input (General)' Controls??

Im having trouble getting universal controls to save for MAME. Im using a 360 control pad, and have tired setting up 'Input (general)' controls, so that the buttons are mapped how i want on the pad, but when i quit and load another game these settings are all back to default and i have to set them all up again. I though the whole reason for Input (general) was that these were set across ALL games??

Make sure your Make folders and files aren't read only.  That's a quick thing to check especially if you copied the files from a different installation.

also try MAME -cc (maybe it di not exist at first, dunno if it creates ones if missing).
