Title: How many 12v sources can I run off a power supply ???

It's a coolerguy power supply with molex plug I got off amazon

I wanting to know if it's ok to run,
2 - 12v computer fans ( for cabinet ventilation )
2 - 12v coin door bulbs
2 - 12v led strips for marquee lights (currently have a florecent bulb but not sure ima get full brightness off it)

And that's all I can think of right now that I'm trying to run off that power supply

Add up the "amps" each thing you want to hook up draws.  Fans usually have this written on them.  For lamps, you can find the current (amps) by dividing the power rating (watts) by the voltage (12V, in this case).

You can't go over the rating of your power supply - apparently 2A.  As long as you're under, you're just fine.

Note that some things may be rated in milliamps (mA).  1000mA is equal to 1A.

2A might be enough to run those items, but it's impossible to say for sure without knowing the specs on them, especially the LED strips.

Are any of them labeled to how many amps they draw or wattage?

Do you know the manufacturer + P/N for the rest?

The coin door, I will be replacing the bulbs and they didn't light up when I connected the wires to the converter ,subs they are burned out ( any recommend replacement bulbs would be helpful)

Looks like 160mA current draw each, based on another ebay listing.

Don't see any specs on this one.

Several threads suggest different ideas from fluorescent fixtures and CCFLs to LED lighting options.  You might want to check around a bit more before you commit to a solution.

Groovy Game Gear has a product called the NovaMatrix LINX LED Marquee Light (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=83&products_id=307).
It draws 400mA per segment.
You may need 3 or 4 segments, depending on your marquee and preferences.
Verify the distance from mounting point to marquee to ensure that you have enough light dispersal. (See product page for details.)


320mA (fans) + 2 coin LED bulbs + 1200mA (3 segments) < 2000mA
2 coin LED bulbs < 480mA

Looks like a safe bet if that's the way you decide to go.

the dead sure way is to hook it all up and measure it with an ammeter.

90% of multimeters can safely measure 10 amps.

hook everything up except the positive wires to your items. then connect the positive wire from all your stuff to the red lead and place your black lead on the positive power feed now the power has to go through the meter. BE SURE YOUR METER IS SET TO READ AMPS.

power it up and read what your draw is. based on the amount of LED items you have, i suspect not much.
