Title: SOLVED: Mapper not finding U360 maps......THE PLOT THICKENS
Post by: Gray_Area on July 03, 2012, 10:21:41 pm
Quite out of the blue, this is happening. I load game and get the message shown below.

I un- and re-installed Ultramap and Umapper. I re-did all my ugc files. No change.

When I run Mala, I know it's picking the command [for that particular map] from the mala.ugc, because I changed that [um] file's name, and it said 'hey, it's not there' - which is the same ---goshdarn--- map it can't find when I load the game.

Nothing from searching, though I swear I've seen something mention something like this. Any ideas?

It seems that deleting the tapper ugc fixes that issue. I guess. I don't know what mapping it's using for that game. I had a tapper ugc because it didn't seem to be using '4-way'.

I had a similar issue last night with CongoBongo, and re-doing the ugc fixed that one.

Dunnooo.

Okay, so the real, main, problem here, which may be related to the problem above, is that when Mala starts, or on game exit back to Mala, the Mala mapper plugin tells Ultramap to switch to analog. (Note that on Mala exit, the correct map is picked.) Even weirder is that I deleted that map from Ultramap - and the plugin makes Ultramap pick an analog map that isn't in the Ultramap list!!

Yes - default, mala, and malaexit all have the same map to pick - and it isn't analog!

So obviously something is wrong with the with plugin. Even after re-installing both Umapper and Ultramap. Even after recreating all my ugc files from scratch!

I'm stumped.

I might've found the culprit. It appears the mapper is case sensitive. If the Ultrastick map says 4-way, the ugc file cannot read 4-Way. Not totally sure of this, as I haven't re-started my system, but did confirm correct map is being loaded on Mala start, and game exit back to Mala.

So I guess this is solved.
