Title: IPAC2 / OPTI-PAC
Post by: Ren Hoek on October 04, 2003, 11:03:53 pm
Probably a simple question, but here goes anyway:

The IPac is used for the joysticks/pushbuttons, the Opti-Pac is used to connect spinners/trackballs, yes?  Can the Opti-Pac be used for buttons/joysticks/spinners/trackballs, or do you have to purchase both 'Pacs' to connect all these items?  The spinners/trackballs can be accompanied by 1/2/3 buttons - are these connected to the Opti-Pac?  If so, does that mean other buttons (specifically player 1&2, coin, 6 standard arcade buttons, pinball buttons, etc.) can be connected to the Opti-Pac?  Both items look very similar and look as though many buttons can be connected to them.

At least on my Opti-pac it only has left and right buttons for each of the two players.   So 4 buttons maximum.  For anything more complicated then you'll have to find another input source (I-Pac, keyboard hack, or whatever).

All those other inputs and outputs are for two trackballs and two rotary devices (including power).
